Chapter 315 - The Heart Want What It Wants
A glimmer of ruthlessness flashed in Rui Fei\'s eyes as a crooked smile appeared on his face. Soon the claw on the ground began to dissipate like something was slowly eating at its flesh. A shrill scream pierced the air as the claw decayed till there was nothing left.
Rui Fei tucked away the fierce look on his face before following behind Ji Yao. From a distance, Lady Ching Sei was watching him with a complicated gaze. It seemed she still couldn\'t bring herself to accept Rui Fei\'s closeness to Ji Yao.
That\'s because she knew what sort of person Rui Fei\'s father was like and as the saying goes \'the apple doesn\'t far from the tree\'. The spawn of a demon can only be a demon as well.
But despite her negative feelings towards this relationship, she couldn\'t interfere. Teenagers are volatile, the more you forbid them to do something the more curious they get. She could only wait for his parents to intervene in the matter.
Because she had been staring in that direction for a long time, Lan Wu couldn\'t help but approach her. He could understand what she was thinking at this moment. They had already expressed their thoughts to Ji Yao about this relationship and retreated soon after that.
Lan Wu placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "Don\'t tire yourself over this. I am sure Rui Fei wouldn\'t do anything to hurt him. We can only be here as backup if things go south."
Lady Ching Sei clutched the side of her robe as she replied, "I know but something has changed and I don\'t think it\'s a good thing," without looking at him.
Lan Wu\'s gaze turned to look at the pair walking one in front of the other and said, "I know you don\'t want a repeat of what happened to Ji Wen but some things can\'t be controlled so why stress so much over them.... The heart wants what it wants," he said reassuring her. Who didn\'t know the tragedy that befell them when Qilin Hao left.
It almost tore Ji Wen apart. They didn\'t want the same thing to happen to Ji Yao but based on Huishe Yue\'s analysis his nephew would never abandon Ji Yao. The only thing, in his opinion, that they had to worry about was how obsessed with Ji Yao that kid was.
Lady Ching Sei didn\'t speak after that biting her lower lip with a sullen expression. Lan Wu patted her back twice but before he could let go he felt a searing gaze burning a hole in his back. The temperature around him seemed to have dropped by a few degrees making him shiver involuntarily.
He took his hand back and asked, "Is it just me or did it suddenly get colder?" As he said this he pulled his fluffy cloak tighter making him look like a steamed dumpling, fluffy and cute. Lady Ching Sei didn\'t feel anything. She was knee-deep in her thoughts that she didn\'t pay too much attention to her environment.
A few feet away Huishe Yue who had been staring at that hand on Lady Ching Sei\'s back with a glare so fierce you would think lasers would shoot out of them any second was suddenly nudged by someone\'s elbow. When he turned to look at the culprit his expression was still dark as before terrifying Zhang Li into yelping like a rat caught in a trap.
"The fuck. Why are you so terrifying..... Ai, my poor heart almost got a heart attack," as he said this he patted his chest calming his nerves.
Huishe Yue looked away clenching his jaw as he struggled to calm down his emotions. He didn\'t respond clearly expressing his disinterest in speaking with Zhang Li but Zhang Li didn\'t catch the hint. To be more precise, he didn\'t give a rat\'s arse whether Huishe Yue wanted to talk to him or not.
"Don\'t worry, your silly little boyfriend doesn\'t have any interest in Lady Ching Sei. How can I say this..... uh, they are bosom buddies with no attraction between them so you, hey where are you going? I am not finished speaking, hey!"
"Scram! I am not interested in him like that," replied Huishe Yue as he stormed away ahead of the pack.
"You can\'t fool me, dumbass," mumbled Zhang Li with his eyes lowered but when he raised his head he saw Huishe Yue stop. It seemed the big bad wolf had good hearing and heard the insult.
"Mommy," muttered Zhang Li before dashing like a deer fleeing from a hunter. Two seconds later he was sticking so close to Ji Yao seeking protection. Ji Yao wouldn\'t watch on as he got pummeled to death, right? He was Ji Yao\'s employee which meant Ji Yao was solely responsible for employee safety at work, right?
"So what are we talking about? Monsters? Oh, that is very interesting. I am running away from one myself," he spouted nonsense while occasionally glancing in Huishe Yue\'s direction. He was so absorbed in his fear of Huishe Yue that he didn\'t notice the real threat was actually beside him. That threat was none other than Rui Fei.
Once he noticed that vinegar jar he could barely make a sound. It seemed he had offended two great buddhas and could only sleep with one eye open from now on.
Xunshi Zhe on the other hand was digging his fingers into the bag of melon seeds in Big Hei\'s hand watching on with great interest.
"Today\'s show is interesting," he said watching Zhang Li using Ji Yao as a shield only to find himself in the proximity of an even bigger wolf.
"What do you think Rui Li meant by gong? Is it some type of secret code or something?..... Oh, Old Du, you are smart, what do you think she meant?" asked Big Hei as he clutched the top of the bag preventing the greedy Xunshi Zhe from eating the entire bag. And yes, they were eavesdropping because they had nothing better to do.
Xunshi Zhe was disgruntled when his fingers couldn\'t go past the top half of the bag. There were only three or four melon seeds at the top of the bag. It was as though Big Hei was monitoring how much he could take out of the small pouch.
A fight inevitably broke out with Big Hei lifting the bag refusing to share but despite this, he still noticed something was off with Old Du. The man had his head lowered lost in thought.
"Hey, Old Du. What are you thinking about? Please tell me others also agreed to fire that stingy chef. Xun-ge did you also sign.. If you signed I will give you more melon seeds," said Big Hei pushing away Xunshi Zhe\'s hand that was stretched out trying to reach the bag that looked like it was going to fly off to the heavens.
