Chapter 287 287: Part 1: Territory Upgrades IV
There was a loud crack akin to thunder and lightning, funny enough the first thing to undergo any changes was the wild life, the trees transfer from the normal dark brown and grey bark to blood red barks, purple and blue leaves. From where he was standing Cole knew there was something a lot more Special about the trees now than what they were before, the entire territory rearranged itself, it was almost as if it really was listening to Coles thoughts or just had something similar in mind.
The Glade with the fields and the manor and the pillars around it suddenly rose up at an elevation. It was still in the middle but it was high up on a hill, with the pillar at the bottom of the massive hill or it would be better to call it a plateau. They rose up, their forms changing into a metallic like curve range structure that rose up into the air to enclose the manor and the Glade. A concrete wall rose up in between them, with only four entrances left, in the north, south, east and west. Major roads led to these entrances dividing the entire territory into four equal quadrants that now stretched forwards into well structured streets and smaller roads. The north west quadrants seemed to have the guild buildings, the dorms that all belonged to people who were part of the inner circle.
The north east was still the industrial zone, where the bottling plant, and the farms were located. Everything conveniently in one place. The south east was completely swallowed up by a forest of colorful trees. Cole knew that was the Resource node, now it has become something so beautiful yet at the same time there was something primal about it, like there was danger within ready to come out and swallow anyone that dared come close to it. The south west had well spaced and proportioned plots of land. And at a closer look it was obvious the south east had something similar as the forest was pushed back a bit. At the middle of the of the south west quadrant was a massive rock that had an opening leading underground….a mine, making it the resource node for the stone and ore.
There was further separation before the pillars and the hill. It stretched from the west all the way to the north, excluding the north western zone that had the dorm and guild buildings. This inner circle seemed to be the demarcation of an elite zone. At the moment there were only plots here and nothing else, But Cole envisioned eventually it would serve as the location for the mansions of the rich or at least those who want a more opulent life style. It would also be an entertainment district, and an academic district. He would build a school, a university, a theater, perhaps a high class brothel or something else.
But all of this change had a basic premise, all of it was advance. The roads were tarred, and lined with street lights. The flowers, plants, anything at all that had life in it looked down right demonic. But at the same time magical and technologically advanced at the same time. The manor had changed, it had grown bigger, but it was now a very complicated piece of architecture. Cole could see two towers, a central one, with another attached to it, but much lower. It was like the way chopsticks were stuck together but one was shorter than the other.
The building itself was made of grey concrete but lined with metal and wooden protrusions that made platforms coming in and out of the tower, almost as if there was no direct way up and you had to come out and find the right route that would take you to where you wanted to be. But running perpendicular from top to bottom was a tube, Cole was not sure what it was made of, Glass or a crystal but energy ran through it. It\'s colors changing from blue, to red, purple and black. It\'s obvious the tower is powered by energy in some way or the other, perhaps this was their own form of electricity.
The next changes he noticed was to the main walls. They were taller, and we\'re now close to two meters thick, the gates to the territory were now no longer wooden doors, but massive metal ones that slide to the side to open. There were smaller doors at the side that people could use to walk in and out without having to open the much larger gate, which was good as far as Cole was concerned. Identities could be properly scrutinized from there, plus he would not be opening those gates until there was something that warranted it\'s use. There were no large vehicles or pets or mounts people used, perhaps there was but Cole would keep that gate securely closed Until he has dealt with the northern glade.
The final change to the walls was to the arrow towers, perhaps it would not be right to call them arrow towers anymore. He was not close to the towers but he was pretty much still in edit mode. The towers were now made of concrete with multiple levels, three actually. And each of them had three triple barreled energy guns, capable of firing off 80 rounds in a second. There were fifty towers and each other them required a 100 energy units to function for an hour in a combat scenario. That was 5000 energy which was practically half of what the territory had before the type change, Cole was still waiting to see what other surprise the territory stat page would have for him.
The walls, the towers, the manor tower and the pillars themselves. Everything that had a structure here runes, sigils wars, whatever these things were colorfully etched onto them. And they all had smaller versions of the crystal casing that transported energy to the main tower in the middle. All of them seem to disappear underground, but Cole could still feel the currents, all of them leading to a spot right in the middle of the territory where a huge ball of energy could be felt. It honestly made Cole feel like he was standing on a bomb, but at the same time he felt empowered by it.
Never the less, it was time to look through the notifications and see just how much change has been implemented.
