Chapter 238: Their Decision
Chapter 238: Their Decision
"Naturally."
They returned back to the group. Lin Xiao could see that the others were looking at him with curious gaze. He knew that it might be time for him to explain to his men about his real identity too.
He slowly took out a necklace. The necklace was brown in color as if it was made of bronze. In the center of the necklace was a small dragon. The entire color of the necklace was brown, which made it looked like a cheap accessory.
However, the people here were all not ordinary people. They all instantly understood what Lin Xiao meant when he took out that pendant... which was extremely surprising for them.
"You’re a Royal Family member?" Han Jiang finally asked first.
Lin Xiao nodded. "Yeah, I just figured this out around a year ago. Before that, I don’t even know I have this with me."
The memory of when he found the letter back in the house resurfaced to his mind as Lin Xiao let out a hollow laugh. It was quite the irony for him to find out that he was a Royal Family member after living as an ordinary country bumpkin person for years.
"I see..." Fan Ling’s eyes glowed with interest, but she accepted quickly. For someone like her, who had already seen quite a lot of wonders ever since she was young, this was nothing much.
Lu Jian rubbed his chin. "No wonder you said that you want to sit there. It seems that you have your own reason."
Princess Lan Yi Hua looked at the necklace as she thought of something. Afterwards, her face turned slightly red but no one else could notice it in this darkness as their attention was focused on the necklace.
Lin Xiao could see that the four of them were quick to accept that. However, there was one problem. He looked over to Xia Ye, who was looking at Lin Xiao with complicated gaze.
"Is there anything you want to ask me, Xia Ye?"
"That’s... do you have any relationship with Prince Lin Fei?"
"He’s an enemy."
Xia Ye nodded. He thought for a moment before adding. "The Emperor?"
"Probably long distance relative that I didn’t care?" Lin Xiao asked back with uncertain tone. He had no interest to figure out more about his parent’s relationship with the Emperor. All he knew was that his parents were murdered because of him...
He hated himself for that fact.
Prince Lin Xian and Prince Lin San both didn’t know who killed their parents because they were still nothing more than children back then. Only Prince Lin Yan might know something and Lin Xiao would try to ask him later.
Xia Ye nodded then relaxed. "Then it didn’t matter. I only want to kill the Emperor and the ninth prince."
"Grudges?" Fan Ling asked in relaxed tone.
"Yeah." Within that one word, the others could feel his burning desire of revenge and also rage deep inside. They were all tactful enough to not ask for more information because they knew that it would only hurt the young man.
"Let’s rest. We’ll continue with his pace of hunting." Lin Xiao waved his hand.
"Yes!"
Lin Xiao was about to rest but he felt Princess Lan Yi Hua tugged his clothes. He was stunned but then looked at her with his clear eyes, inquiring why she suddenly called him like that. Her face was slightly red now that he focused his attention on her.
"What is it, Yi Hua?"
Princess Lan Yi Hua’s face turned redder at Lin Xiao’s way of calling her. She got closer and then leaned in to whisper something to his ear.
And in the next second, Lin Xiao was utterly stunned.
Before he could ask more, Princess Lan Yi Hua had escaped to her tent that she built before. Lin Xiao stood still for a few more seconds before a smile formed on the corner of his lips. It seemed that the girl had started to accept him.
"Somehow, I don’t like seeing his foolish grin," Lu Jian commented.
Lin Yun arched his eyebrows. "You’re just jealous of him."
"Tsk."
Seeing Lu Jian sulking while Han Jiang sighed, Lin Yun was amused. These two were both single men and obviously they felt the torture of watching how Lin Xiao and Princess Lan Yi Hua got closer every single day. No one wanted to be fed with dog food whenever they were staying near Lin Xiao.
Hmm, come to think about it, he still needed to figure out how to get even closer to Fan Ling. She did treat him well but Lin Yun knew that he was still not at that level with her. He needed to work harder.
...
They rested for the day and continued their hunt the next day. With the two groups collaborating with each other, it only took around a month for them to reach 1 million and if this continued, they would be able to finish collecting the necessary points by 7 months at most.
All of them were treating this more like a training, yet they didn’t lower their vigilance in the slightest bit. After all, if they underestimated their opponent, the price they might need to pay would be their lives.
Danger was everywhere and it was especially so in a secluded place like this filled with beasts all around.
Two months passed by quickly but the two groups were still collaborating with each other.
"Don’t you need to return back soon?" Lin Xiao asked curiously. Seeing how they trailed behind them like this made it looked like a grand escort in this forest.
Prince Lin San shook his head. "We’ve only been here for a year or so. Since this place is good for us collecting a lot of beast cores and also the carcasses, we plan to stay here for a longer period of time."
The beast carcasses could be sold for quite a hefty sum since it was used by those working in food field. Meat of higher ranked beast was obviously quite valuable.
