Chapter 148 - Liu Qiangwei
Xiaofeng threw the Durex away after shooting a glance at it and said with anger, “Speak normally!”
“Huh? Brother Xiao, didn’t you call me here for this reason?” Qian Duoduo felt somewhat disappointed and confused, looking at Xiaofeng in puzzle.
“Sorry, I have no intrest in flat girls.”
Xiaofeng answered as he looked at her up and down.
“I… I’ll grow mature soon.”
Qian Duoduo pouted her lips and said with annoyance.
“Then, let’s talk about it when that day comes,” Xiaofeng said with indifference.
“Hump! You’ll regret it!” After saying this, Qian Duoduo turned into a serious tone. “Why you looked for me, Brother Xiao?”
“Buy a villa on behalf of me. I’ve chosen one…” said Xiaofeng.
He had long made the plan since he made a lot of money by selling the token of the guild at the auction. The villa he wanted to buy was at the top of a hill and expensive, but he did not have time for the procedures, so, he wanted Qian Duoduo to do it for him.
He had few acquaintances in Chenghai City, and Qian Duoduo was the best one he could think of to help him.
“Got it! Consider it well-done. I’ll go for it now.”
On hearing Xiaofeng’s explanation, Qian Duoduo gave him a playful and informal salute and ran away swiftly. She was in such a hurry that she even forgot to close the door.
Xiaofeng shook his head, feeling a headache. If he had not seen with his own eyes that Qian Duoduo set up Treasure Pavilion, a big chamber of commerce, from nothing, he would never have believed that a young girl like her could achieve it.
A white BMW stopped in front of his house when Xiaofeng stood up to close the door. The door of the car opened, and an ethereal, stunning figure went up to Xiaofeng.
“What?”
Xiaofeng was surprised because the figure was no other than Midsummer Rose, whose real name was Liu Qiangwei.
She looked as gorgeous and ethereal as the first time he met her at the director’s office of Midsummer Group.
The only difference was that she wore a snow-white dress of ancient style that day, not a business suit as she did before. Her hair fluttering with the wind, her face as white as snow, she looked like nothing in the world. Her beauty was astonishing, fascinating yet pure and aloof.
“How did you find me?”
Xiaofeng was surprised that Liu Qiangwei visited him in the real world rather than looking for him in the game world as he had expected. At the same time, he felt worried at the exposing of his address but soon relieved since he had Qian Duoduo go to find a new place for him.
“The disappeared detective, he told me.”
Liu Qiangwei stared at Xiaofeng with her beautiful eyes and said.
“Come on in.”
Xiaofeng nodded and realized it was not strange that Liu Qiangwei knew his address for she had once sent a detective to investigate his place.
“The girl who left just now is Qian Duoduo, isn’t she?” Liu Qiangwei asked, staring towards the direction Qian Duoduo had to after she took gentle steps into the room with a casual look. She walked past her, so, in no way would she not notice her.
“Yes, she is.”
Xiaofeng nodded and closed the door. Unexpectedly, his action made Liu Qiangwei nervous, from the looks of her eyes, but she soon calmed down and asked casually while looking around the layout of the room, “So, you have a good relationship with her?”
“Yes, kind of. Take a seat please.”
Xiaofeng casually sat down on the sofa with his eyes fixed on Liu Qiangwei’s snow-white face. He admired her beauty that he would never get bored of looking at, and in his eyes, she was indescribably stunning.
“No, thank you. I’ll just stand here.”
Liu Qiangwei shook her head humbly.
“Have Midsummer Group taken an action?”
Xiaofeng did not insist on her sitting down but asked, and at the moment, a sharp light flashed within his eyes.
“Unfortunately, not yet.”
Liu Qiangwei knew very well Xiaofeng’s intention but she could only shake her head at it.
“Not yet?”
Xiaofeng frowned. He believed that the failure of Midsummer Group to defend its encampment was a huge blow to the group, whose total assets were between four and five billion, and one billion of it had been spent on the token of the guild. That was to say, the group had used up its current funds, let alone its investments.
However, at this point, the evil man behind the group had not taken any action yet. Did he not care about the group at all? Or he had left the group?
“Then, what are you doing here?” Xiaofeng frowned, and his tone carried some displeasure. All he had done was to find out the evil man, yet, it seemed that he failed, and he would thus lose his target. Did he have no choice but to turn to those who were involved five years ago?”
“I’m here to admit defeat.”
Liu Qiangwei’s voice sounded ethereal yet soft.
“Admit defeat? What do you mean?” Xiaofeng was confused and asked.
“Midsummer Group and Midsummer Guild mean a lot to me, so, I beg you to cut me some slack,” Liu Qiangwei said in a low voice, staring at Xiaofeng.
She had seen through her situation. Midsummer Guild could not get over from the huge blow, so, if Xiaofeng was not willing to let the matter down, death would be Midsummer’s only fate.
Since they could not defeat the Paladin Order, by all means, it would be in vain no matter how many times they tried to set up another guild.
What Midsummer had suffered this time was influential and caused it on its last legs. Liu Qiangwei risked all Midsummer had to earn it a slim chance of survival. Nevertheless, Midsummer suffered a great fall regardless of its reputation or popularity and was no longer among the powerful guilds.
The one billion she had spent on the token was too costly that the guild now could only rank among the middle-sized ones.
However, Liu Qiangwei did not give up since she still had the guild now. Though it was so much weaker than before, she believed that she could bring the powerful guild back.
But all these were on conditions that Xiaofeng would stop targeting them. However, he would not.
That was why Liu Qiangwei had come to talk with Xiaofeng. Despite that they could connect each other in the game, she chose to talk to him face to face.
“Why should I stop?”
Sure enough, Xiaofeng sneered at Liu Qiangwei’s words, and his eyes were full of disdain.
“I know you hold hatred against Midsummer Group, but it was established by Xia Ling’s father, and I’d love to give it back to her,” Liu Qiangwei weighed her words and said.
“What do you mean?” Xiaofeng frowned. Xia Ling, the girl Liu Qiangwei referred to was actually Xiao Ling.
“You could take my words literally. I could transfer all my shares of Midsummer Group to Xia Ling for free only that I’ll still be the leader of Midsummer Guild. By then, Xia Ling will take control of both the group and the guild, and they will no longer belong to me. I believe you’ll not attack the group when it belongs to Xia Ling, right?” Liu Qiangwei said with a seemingly strong determination.
“You said you would give Midsummer Group back to Xiao Ling?” Xiaofeng’s expression finally changed as he stared at Liu Qiangwei.
