PATH OF THE STAR HUNTER

Chapter 434

As a longtime virgin, Camila had no experience in love, but she had heard about it. She knew of that activity where two became one, but not even she, in her ignorance, wouldn’t believe that this was anything like it.

Leaving aside the romanticism that she attributes to sex, Camila does not know of any way that two beings could be one. There was simply no such thing, this was beyond anything a human could do, and as far as she knew, this wasn’t a fairy thing either.

Camila couldn’t be blamed for her ignorance. Spiritual fusion was something that only high-level elemental beings could do. It wasn’t something that all fairies could or were willing to do. Although some spiritual amalgamation was common between spiritual entities that shared a deep emotional bond, similar to the love of human beings, something like fusion was incredibly rare.

As Camila tried to understand the phenomenon in front of her. Harmony took her time to see the world around her. Strands of pure mana from all the elements swirled continuously around Harmony, like innocent children seeking the caress of her loving mother.

Newborn and unstable, Harmony could not contain her emotions that were showing red hot through the mana that surrounded her. Sometimes the mana strands were absorbed upon contact with Harmony’s wings.

A prism made of sapphire, one of pure gold, another of jadeite, and one more of ruby. Each represented one of the elements with which Desmond had the most affinity. And if one were to look more closely, one would find two beasts contained, one in the sapphire and one in the ruby.

It was almost ridiculous how Harmony could roam at ease and take her time to enjoy her new entrance into her existence. Meanwhile, one of the strongest military forces knelt, unable to tolerate the pressure.

It took time, but with the royal knights in the lead, they soon began to regain their strength. They overcome the psychological pressure and control outbursts caused by Harmony’s affinity.

.....

Even the proud and insurmountable royal knights were now wary of Harmony’s presence. They treated this new entity as if it were the greatest enemy they had ever encountered.

The only ones who could be considered lucky were those who were removed from the battlefield. In the distance, being carried by a group of combat medics, William and Frederick were quite glad to have made it out of that damn square with their lives intact.

As for Xavier, as the last living holy knight and the most powerful of them, he was captured and taken away for his imprisonment. The days of the church were numbered, and there was no point in returning a powerful soldier like Xavier to them.

Back in the square, the royal knights finally regained their composure. After careful evaluation, they decided to lay siege to this new existence. With the royal knights at the forefront, the rest of his men would launch a constant barrage against this new entity.

Camila was already fed up with this bloody fight and didn’t even bother to be noticed; she just stood on the sidelines and planned to watch. She wasn’t the least bit worried about Cecilia and Harmony. Although Harmony hadn’t crossed the threshold, with her affinity and mana reserves, her combat power wouldn’t be even a bit lower than three-star class.

Camila understood better than anyone the huge gap between those who stepped up to the three-star class and those who didn’t. It didn’t matter which Harmony hadn’t taken that step; with her current power, no one here was her rival. Harmony was currently an existence second to none.

The current leader of this capture squad was a powerful metal user, and to set an example for his men, he took the lead in the attack. Formed from hundreds of golden mana threads, a three-meter golden spear was created in front of him. The man lacked the control to make the spear look realistic, but no one could underestimate the power contained in that attack.

No one could despise that spear... no one except Harmony. Like a drop of water vanishing into the vast ocean, the spear was sucked into the golden prism that came out to act as a shield. There wasn’t even a wave or a sound; that spear just vanished.

Another royal knight tried to attack with a tide of water-filled blue swallows. Still, as if attracted by an intense gravitational field, they went off course before being sucked into the blue prism behind Harmony.

These were two full-power blows from two royal knights, the royal family’s most potent weapons, two people who stood above thousands and only below a few. Facing Harmony, these attacks were no different from trying to break a diamond with a quill, a ridiculous effort.

The entire battle plan and capture carried out then, in the face of the insurmountable entity in front of them, was useless. Who would dare to continue the attack? No one, there was simply no one that stupid.

“All that power, coupled with an absolute affinity for all elements... How is a mana user supposed to deal with that thing?”

Camila’s voice was like a pin dropping in a silent room, bringing with it what everyone present was thinking. Was there even a way to fight that thing in front of them?

An answer came in a voice more beautiful than the song of a sparrow. A tone soft as velvet and seductive as a rose reverberated in the voice of this entity.

“I don’t like you.”

No matter how asexual the voice sounded, it carried infinite seduction. Still, the actions of the owner of this voice prevented anyone from having the opportunity to enjoy the moment.

The enormous red prism floated in front of Harmony, just within reach of her delicate hands. The mere presence of the prism melts the rock below, which didn’t affect Harmony as he floated an inch above the ground and seemed immune to heat.

A chill ran down Camila’s spine at that moment. She didn’t hesitate and activated her bloodline again, increasing her defensive capabilities to the maximum. Camila started the runic sphere on her sword to absorb an immense amount of rocky mana and further strengthened her defenses as if she believed it wasn’t enough.

They all followed Camila’s defensive trend a second later. No one knew what the hell to expect from the entity in front of them. Still, even their commander, the almighty Camila, seemed to be in trouble, so they had to be prepared.

Harmony’s exquisite hand reached out until she touched the red prism. It was as if the most stunning white jade in the world would meet the most intense ruby. Camila wanted to curse how beautiful and elegant Harmony seemed at all times.

As a woman, Camila also felt an instinctive desire to admire beautiful things and be beautiful herself. Still, the more beautiful Harmony seemed, the more intense the danger alarms inside her head became.

Harmony’s heterochromatic eyes looked up at the ruby as if they could see something inside. At that moment, Camila saw what was undoubtedly the most beautiful smile in the world. Camila’s heart skipped a beat, not out of infatuation but out of fear; her instincts told her that smile was the most dangerous thing she had ever seen.

“These people seem eager to burn me with their aggression. Ifrit, show them what real fire looks like.”

GROW!

A deafening prehistoric roar escaped from the red prism as it shattered into spurts of scattered light, leaving behind what appeared to be a demon made of fire. The entire plaza was flooded with high temperatures that only stopped when the monster disappeared in a fiery flash.

Before anyone could breathe a sigh of relief, an orange glow bathed in fiery heat that ran through the entire plaza. Looking up, all that could be seen; was a sea of ??fire. Hundreds if not thousands of fire spears covered the sky, falling rapidly like torrential rain.

The entire city of Serith felt the heat and saw the phenomenon in the sky. It was like seeing the world’s end at the hands of a force of nature. That level of power and destructive potential had reached the stage where it was enough to damage an entire city. That was the power of an entity in the three-star class.

That power was something even Camila feared. With a sense of duty flooding her body with boundless conviction, Camila was ready to give everything she had and clash with Harmony when she noticed something peculiar.

A mischievous smile and a glimmer of friendliness, this unexpected expression delayed Camila’s response time; however, that did not matter. Camila understood when she saw the first fire spear hit one of her teammates. That spear didn’t hurt him at all.
